Closing Event: AmuBwiy Puing Culture Arts Group

Founded within the indigenous tribal villages, this origin established the foundational mission to safeguard traditional culture. The troupe's name derives from the Atayal language AmuBwiy Puing, meaning "inheriting the roots." It embodies a dual philosophy: "AmuBwiy" (Inherit) signifies embracing new knowledge and exploring the beautiful creations and contemporary culture of indigenous peoples; "Puing" (Roots) represents the calling to seek out the ancestral power and glory of the tribal villages. Through the blending of traditional culture and modern trends, they create exquisite and graceful indigenous cultural arts, striving to preserve traditional heritage while maintaining their profound, emotional connection with the land.

The performance, titled "Origins (Qinplan)", is deeply centered around Atayal culture. Through ancient chants (Thawbin), the traditional jaw harp, dance, and the profound imagery of weaving, it intricately connects a performative journey from "cultural origins" to "contemporary continuation."

Rooted in oral traditions, the piece presents the tribe's history, ancestral wisdom, and cultural memory, translating these elements into a theatrical language through music and physical vocabulary. The performance interweaves the display of masculine strength, the life-giving symbolism of women's weaving, and the deep emotional bonds among tribal members. This gradually unfolds the intricate relationships between culture and the land, as well as between the people and their ancestors. The overall narrative structure advances layer by layer—from "Origin—Emotion—Strength—Life—Future"—ultimately culminating in the unity and blessings of the tribe. It beautifully showcases how Atayal culture continues to flow and thrive as a living heritage in the modern era.
