Opening Event: CHIO-TIAN
"Chio-Tian" originates from a sacred name in religious belief, representing the veneration of a supreme deity and serving as the spiritual core of the "Chio-Tian Folk Drums & Art Troupe." Taking it one step at a time under divine guidance, they have overcome countless obstacles to challenge boundaries and innovate within tradition. They have led their Din Tao (traditional temple parade) troupe in a remarkable evolution—from performing traditional folk customs to pioneering a unique performing art style known as "Temple Fair Theater."
To ensure the transformation and sustainable legacy of traditional folk culture, Chio-Tian has steadily turned its visionary dreams into reality. By relentlessly refining their skills, enriching their performances, and elevating the caliber of their artistry, they have championed local Taiwanese culture. Today, they stand as Taiwan's most outstanding Din Tao troupe and a leading icon of indigenous art.
Drawing on their extensive experience in large-scale cultural performances and incorporating engaging live interactions, they convey the unique characteristics and charm of traditional Taiwanese culture with boundless passion and energy. The troupe has frequently participated in major festivals both domestically and internationally, and has independently hosted numerous large-scale public performances. To date, their global footprint spans five continents, with cultural exchange tours across Europe, the Americas, Africa, Australia, and Asia. Chio-Tian remains steadfast in challenging themselves, dedicated to showcasing Taiwan's most beautiful folk culture performances as they continue to stride confidently onto the international stage.
